Bp Oil Spill

Television if full of advertisement and propaganda. As well as the internet with advertisement popups and clips on the sides of every webpage. Propaganda is information put out by an organization or government to promote and idea or cause. Many of these are misleading and bias, trying to make you believe in the same things they do and convince you to participate in whatever cause they are in. Think about some of the commercials you seen on television such as news reports, movies, political ads, and recall ads. The most memorable to me are recall ads such as lawyers making announcements for medicines and compensation. As well as when election time comes around and all of the runners are putting their names out there. Also, every day, watching the news on new crimes going on in the world and previews for my next favorite movie. Those are all different techniques of propaganda. The purpose of me writing this essay is to show you the propaganda in a simple informative commercial or newscast. My main focus will be on the BP oil spill. The first sociology theory I will compare with is symbolic interactionism. Symbolic interactionism is the use of symbols or face to face interaction. The way that this relates to the BP oil spill is the way that the owner of the company, Kenneth R. Fineburg, said that he was going to help and compensate the victims of the oil spill. Commercials and speeches were made about his plans to pay back for the damage and loss of wages that his company had caused the Gulf of Mexico and victims. The second theory will be functionalism. Functionalism is the relationship between parts of society. In this situation, the society came together and fought to be compensated to get their lost wages back. Claiming they have mortgages, bills, car payments, and children to pay for and they have not been working in 8 months. Citizens of the affected area appeared on news cast and commercials were made explaining their situations, trying to reach out to someone that they needed help. The last theory is the conflict theory. Conflict theory means competition of scarce resources or the elite control the poor and weak. This relates to this situation as the big man, Mr. Fineburg, having the money and resources to help the people out with their lost wages. As, well his colleagues were trying to tell him that he was over compensating the victims. They had all of the control over whether or not the victims were going to be able to get paid and bailed out of this mess that one man was responsible for. In conclusion, propaganda was used in ways to reach out to people about the real problems going on in the Gulf of Mexico during the time of the BP oil spill. I used the 3 main theories of sociology to compare how each of them relates to the oil spill. The incident occurred on April 20th 2010, where equipment failed and caused the explosion sinking the ring, and causing the death of 11 workers and more than 17 workers injured. The British based energy company also faced other problems at the site of the oil spill. More than 40 million gallons (estimated data) of oil spewed into the Gulf of Mexico.Oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico is a very serious threat for the wildlife as it causes water pollution. The oil spill effected many coastal areas in the US, like the Louisiana, Alabama, Mississippi and Florida. The oil spill disaster strongly damaged wildlife cycle in the Gulf of Mexico, and many species were thrown into extinction. Similarly, thousands of businesses were thrown into extinction. Many people has questioned the ethical decisions and core value system that BP used to cut corners with the acc ident; namely, the race to maximize profits at all costs.We are all aware that one of the main causes that let to the disaster were the result of bad decisions, in which a less expensive option (whether to run a test or use a particular kind casing pipe, for example) would save lives. There has been â€Å"zero dollars spent on research concerning how to handle oil spills for off-shore drilling by BP despite the company's NET profits – above and beyond all salaries, bonuses, or overhead costs- of more than $59 BILLION† (â€Å"The Rachel Maddow Show† on MSNBC, aired at 7 p. m.EST on June 28, Monday). The paperwork submitted to the U. S. Minerals Management Services (MMS) by BP in 2008 was 582 pages long, supposedly covering all of BP's operations in the Gulf of Mexico. However, they omitted their ability to deal with oil spills in a worst-case scenario just to get their permits for drilling. Another very unethical act by BP was when President Obama was scheduled t o visit Louisiana back than, BP hurriedly â€Å"hired† temporary workers and handed out gear (paper haz-mat uniforms, etc. , but told these temps not to talk to anyone. As soon as all the TV cameras and the president's motorcade left the area, these â€Å"for show only† hires immediately stopped working (a local government official took photos and attempted to question a few, who advised him they were â€Å"not supposed to talk to anyone, on BP's orders†). They did not come back on the following day or any day thereafter.On the zero dollars spent for developing back-up systems, BP informed â€Å"The Rachel Maddow Show's† representative that they â€Å"rely† on an organization which they claimed â€Å"does spill research† even though the investigators from the show discovered the organization named by BP does not receive any money from BP nor do they do research for ways to stop oil spills. In other words, BP was unethical and lied again. Thi s British Petroleum is listed as the fourth wealthiest corporation in the entire world, and yet they lie about the extent of their spill.They fudged figures and information (against the law) in order to get a license to drill in American waters, they did not even bother to change the batteries for the system they claimed was their â€Å"back-up†. BP, as most oil companies (and other business), are aimed at making as much money as possible. In this case because of the big cover up the media did, BP was forced to fix the problem, and it is a problem that its costing them major money, both through clean up and lost product. BP has so far committed $42 billion to cleaning up.I really hope that BP (and other companies) learned the lesson, that cutting corners and cost reduction is not the only point that organizations should focus on. It is not safe to cut corners and presume that things will not happen. Make ethical decision, have back up plans, and ‘worst case scenarioâ₠¬â„¢ preparation. If BP would be more ethical and do the right things either by using the latest safety precautions when drilling (not cutting corners, and reducing costs), and moving faster and more dynamically when the disaster occurred, they could have avoided billions in cleanup and damages that they faced and are still facing now.The BP oil spill has offered a moment for reflection for leaders around the world about their most basic beliefs. To many people, the BP oil spill has brought home the idea that future corporate leaders must develop personal ethical standards for making decisions that go beyond just a financial calculation. There are plenty of business practices that are legal, but fall short in being ethical. But I believe being ethical does pay off, slowly and steadily. You may lose some opportunities, but your reputation and self-perception is invaluable.

Our society has come a long way since the telegraph and the newspaper. The most used source of media today is the television. In today’s society over 250 billion hours of television is viewed annually by Americans. Children are exposed to more than 40,000 ads a year, and this number is climbing. Americans as a whole are exposed to thousands of images of sex, crime, advertisements, celebrity news, hidden subliminal messages and much more. Today’s society is not aware of the negative influences we expose ourselves and our children to on a daily basis. Surprisingly enough, 95% of the media is owned by only 5 companies, which are, Time Warner, Viacom, Vivendi Universal, Walt Disney, and News Corp. These companies own the major entertainment theme parks, movie studios, radio broadcast networks, and sports entertainment. These superior companies also own integrated telecommunications, wireless phones, video game software, electronic media the music industry and more. In earlier years there was diversity in companies, now there are just a few that have the power to influence the minds of your children. When children constantly watch violence and negative images over and over again it becomes traumatic on their psyche. Television is shaping the way young Americans think. Therefore they grow up thinking they have to look a certain way to fit in today’s society. We need to develop a mind of our own or we will become a culture filled with zombies with low IQ’s. As one examines the relationship between the media and popular culture it is evident that the affects of the media has had a great impact. The popular culture before the media was somewhat simple. The pop culture was primarily dictated by the elite and the religious sector. As time progressed pop culture began to be influenced more by certain types of media. One form that had a great impact on pop culture was movable print. Movable print opened the door to mass communication in 15th century by allowing information to be printed for the emerging middle class. This new age in pop culture gave way to the spread of illiteracy and the emergence of trade in the western civilization. As pictorial printing emerged so did the education of the lower classes. This new form of media was mass produced and allowed the door to be open for the mass movement and change in popular culture. The Reformation, led by Martin Luther was the first form of a mass movement influenced by mass communication. Along with this development was the ability to distribute new religious thoughts and ideas the masses, which in turn allowed people to begin to develop individual ideas on religion. As pop culture became more influenced by mass communication, more people learned to read and write. The Reformation can basically be credited to the start of mobilizing the masses and industrialization. As one examines where we are as a society, one can safely say that pop culture is greatly influenced by all forms of media. This idea will explored throughout this paper and how it relates to enculturation. The relationships among the media, advertising and the formation of normative cultural values are very important in the 20th century. Without putting them together to have the success that comes to many movies, business, and some of the top celebrities would make things a lot harder. The media is a good tool if used properly but can as we have seen make things bad for some people and their businesses. At the start the use of the media was to entertain as well as inform. The base ball games started off on the radio and after sometime TV became black and white. Then the idea came that there are people looking at these shows and the thought of advertising came into play. This enhanced television because now not only do you have people being entertained but now you can give ideas that could offer big bucks for business. If in this day and time we did not have the media to inform us as we need to be, how would we know that there is a new cold bug or that the weather is not going to be good on Sunday. The media is a very import to us in the 20th century without it how would things be if they were to go on as they are now. The media was used to inform us that Toyota the car company has several cars having trouble with their gas pedal getting stuck. This was important to know because if not then people all over the world would have had these issues with the cars and not have know that this needed to be fixed right away. But in turn Toyota used the media and advertising to get sales back up after the issues slowed down sales. The haste of technology has impacted our society and helped globalization move a little quicker. Although, the internet may seem to be taken away the personal part of communicating, it has globalized our country by having the opportunity to communicate with other countries around the world. The impact of a growing business is better known as face book. One of the largest most recognized websites that is very helpful in communicating with others around the world. Today’s popular culture has made face book one of the newest and innovated ways to communicate with friends and family at are long distance. In a way the internet has globalized and helped our country to become one by simply communicating with one other through this known site. Although, it may not be face to face round table discussion but it helps us in all ways possible. Popular culture has made this website a sophisticated site where all can be a part of. However, face book does have its changelings because it takes away from interpersonal communication restrictions. The important thing to remember in forming a virtual relationship is not to lose sight of the fact that it is virtual reality. Everyone has their own opinions about both the positives and the negatives of mass media and its’ affects on popular culture. In the end it all comes down to the individual’s values and their perception on what is current and popular to them. It is the parent’s responsibility to teach their children about their heritage and culture, but sometimes that does not happen, and the child has to decide for his or her self what mass media and popular culture is good or bad in the aspect of the affects it has on them. 1. Analyze Starbucks using the competitive forces and value chain models. The environment in which the specialty coffee industry had to compete during the 2008 was made up of cheaper fast food chain and global economic downturn. Compare with McDonald’s and Dunkin’ Donuts, Starbucks offers a unique experience: high-end specialty coffees and beverages, friendly and knowledgeable servers, and customer-friendly coffee shops. However more and more customers complain that the Starbucks lost their hip and local feel. Under this circumstance, the new entrants are much more easy to enter the specialty coffee area, because Starbucks would generally lost their specialty in coffee industry, and coffee industry does not put a high premium on economies of scale. The primary substitute products posing a potential threat to specialty coffee were the caffeinated soft drinks produced by Pepsi and Coca-Cola. Competitors like Pepsi and Coca-Cola offered beverages, which had the caffeine in herent in specialty coffee, at significantly lower prices. In order to deal with the profits plunge in 2008, Starbucks decide to overhaul its business using in store technology, aggressive product differentiation strategy and lean their management and working processions. To enhance human resource, Starbucks created a 10-person â€Å"lean team† whose job is to travel the country visiting franchises and coaching them in lean techniques made famous by automaker Toyota’s production system. To save the time the employee to make a drink, Starbuck set out to streamline the business processes used in each of its stores so that baristas do not need to bend down to scoop coffee, cutting down on idle time while waiting for coffee to drain, and finding ways to reduce the amount of time each employee spends making a drink. Five Pillars of Islam are its unifying characteristic; they are the primary aspect of religion. These five pillars include Tauhid, which is the first and most important; it is faith in one true God, Allah. The second is Salah or Namaz, which is the ritual prayer Muslims are required to perform five times a day. Fasting is the third pillar of Islam where Muslims fast for a whole month. Zakat, the charity compulsory on certain wealth is the fourth pillar, the fifth pillar is Hajj, which is a pilgrimage a Muslim with enough wealth is required to take at least once in his lifetime. Apart from the five pillars of Islam, there are also six articles of faith. These include: Belief in One God Belief in all the prophets Belief in the four original Holy scriptures Belief in the angels Belief in the Hereafter and day of judgement Belief in Divine verdict Muslims are usually distinguished by their devotion to the obligation of praying fives times to Allah in a day. Another defining characteristic of Islam is pre-eminence of the sacred places, which are Makah, Medina and Jerusalem. A ritual of Muslims is to gather in a congregation at mosque to pray and worship Allah, also study the divine scripture, Quran. The distinction as to who is better in the Muslim community is based on solely the individual Muslims devotion to serving in the path of Allah. The universal aspect of Islam caused it to expand almost instantly after it evolved in Arabian Peninsula, in the present world it has spread across Africa, Europe, Asia and rest of the world. Although most of the Muslims are born into faith but Islam always welcomes the coverts too (Julie Williams, 2008). This has created a cultural bond due to similarities that they share among their societies, although these different societies do still have characteristics that clearly distinguish them. Many of the customs that prevail in todays Muslim world have no roots in either Quran or Sunnah. Compare Islamic culture with other cultures Islam is one of the three Divine religions, other two being Judaism and Christianity which preceded Islam but were annulled when Allah sent the message of Islam through Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h), which was to be the last and universal religion for the entire mankind. The preceding cultures have various similarities but major differences in comparison to Islam. Lets take Judaism for instance, there are many differences among these two religions yet they all originate from one basic difference. Although they both believe in One God, they have difference in the belief of Prophet, Islam is based on the teachings that Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h) came with and believes him to be the Last Prophet. Where as Jews believe only in the prophet hood of Moses. According to Islamic belief any who denies that Holy Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h) was the last prophet would be doomed to an eternity in hell. There are other contrasting beliefs in both the religions too, for example Jews believe prophet Ismail to be an idolater where as Muslims respect him as prophet of Allah. Christianity and Islam have a lot of similarities. Both of them hold the belief in Prophets, Divine scriptures, day of judgement/resurrection, importance of religion. Many of the teachings in their scriptures are similar too, although the Original transcript of Bible has now been tampered with. Regardless of these similarities there are a lot of crucial differences too. Their Understanding of Allah is very different, in Islam God is one and only with no equals where as in Christianity they deem Jesus to be the son of God. In Christian culture, the belief of divine revelation is that God himself appeared to preach and provide redemption. Islam on the other hand looks upon revelation as a form of guidance. Aside from difference of islam with these two major religion cultures, since islam has spread across the world, its true culture has taken various changes depending on the region it exists in, for example in subcontinent, Malaysia and Indonesia. The influence of hindu culture is dominant on muslim practices too, since the people that converted to islam and formed muslim communities there were originally hindus. According to Oxford dictionary, peripheral nations are the third world countries those are still in the developing stage with a very low standard of living (Oxford Dictionary). According to Brown (2000), the peripheral regions rely on conventional industries and there has no or low economic growth. Bagan is one of the destinations where full with tourist’s attractions but the government does not support anything to that area for economic growth. Actually the Bagan has attractive sceneries that are valuable for tourism industry. Most of the people in peripheral regions are old people because young generations rely on technologies and migrate to other place where developed areas (urban areas). The main business of Myanmar is agriculture and the government should promote the country as a popular destination to become a developed country. Also Bagan is very interesting place. But there has so many barriers to develop the peripheral regions like Bagan, Myanmar. Some of the barriers are lack of knowledge, poor transportation system, lack of government support, lack of infrastructure and no tourism planning. In Bagan, local people are doing handicraft and most of the people are vendors and farmers so they have no knowledge about tourism. That is why the government should promote the destination (Bagan) to local tour agencies. Furthermore, there has no tour agency in Bagan. When the government promotes the place, tour agency will set up their company in destinations. And that company will provide the job and provide the trainee to local people for participating in sustainable tourism development and language section. Most of the people from peripheral region cannot speak interna tional language, English. Provide the trainee sections that provide the acknowledgement of tourism is the best solution for solving the barrier (limited knowledge). Also should provide the English language class for people who want to work in tourism and hospitality industry. Knowing about tourism can be one of the opportunities to create job as well as can increase the local people income. There can be increase the number of visitors when developing sustainable tourism and that can improve the lifestyle of local people and can increase the Gross Domestic Profit (GDP) of country as well. And another one of the main barriers is no tourism planning in that peripheral region (Bagan, Myanmar). The government should develop the tourism planning by cooperation with tour operator. Tour operator is the person or organization that can knew everything about the tourism such as what type of media should use, what kind of place can be tourist’s attraction, which type of people should we use in specific area and so on. The tourism planning is the very first step for developing sustainable tourism development. That tourism planning can address the policies, zoning and etc. The policy can make the local people happy. This is because the local people will feel upset when their place is more visitors than local people. Zoning can help not only to the natural resources but also to the local people. If the tour operator make zoning can help both tourism industry and local areas. As an example Bagan should create zone for tourists and that zone is especially for economic zone. Th is is because now Bagan is very few local people and that can affect to them if there has no zoning. Furthermore, the government should make long term plan. They should think at least ten years plan for local people. This is because there can appear many business (private companies) from around the country. If the government did not create long term plan, the local people will feel annoy to both tourists and private sectors. So government should consider for the local people because they are the main sector that can sustain tourism development in their region. According to Parlato (2004), â€Å"an altruistic attitude towards the environment, resulting in behavioral change, is more likely to occur if motivation to do so is on a personal and individual level, through one’s own beliefs as well as value system rather than if it were enforced legally or simply viewed as a social or political ideal†. There cannot be sustainable tourism develop where there has no each local (personal) involvement in planning. Also each of everyone can change their mind in within a second so the government should do make sure plan for their future. In addition, the government should consider about the local people beliefs and values. Furthermore, local people will fully support when the government consider what they beliefs and values for their life. Those beliefs and values can build trust between local people and government. And that can solve the barriers of unbelievable in government. Effective local people cooperation is hardly to get when the g overnment used power to them. According to Butler (1999), the problem for sustainable tourism development is hardly to clarify the meaning of word and also that can focus on the weakness points of destination. The meaning of sustainable tourism development is rarely to hear for local people and sometime that can be misunderstanding between local people and other stakeholders. So the tour operators should introduce the exactly meaning and accurate information to local people for preventing the conflicts. The worse results can come out for development when there has problem with local people. This is because local people are the core center that can support in sustainable development. Another barrier is the destination is lack of tourist’s facilities. Tourist’s facilities are hotel, motel, guest house for accommodation, train, car, bus for transportation, restaurant, bar for food and beverage and so on. The peripheral region like Bagan is lack of those facilities for attracting more tourists. Even there has no international accommodation such as Hilton, Marriott, etc. The government should open up the international business. This is because some tourists thinks they are so loyal while they stay at international standard as well as some tourists did not choose the place there has no international hotels. If the government wants to develop sustainable tourism, firstly they should create or open up the business for facilities. Furthermore, local hotel developers will come in and set up their business in the region. So that can be advantages for people who live in that destination. In addition, the local developer can observe knowledge from the internati onal hotel for improving the standard and attract more visitors to come. Open up economic sector is the most important thing. When people in today’s society use the bow and arrow as a symbol for hunter they get it from Artemis. Not only did she have many characteristics, but she had a very loving family. Artemis’s twin brother is Apollo. She loved her brother and was very close to him. Artemis’s mother was Leto, Artemis and Apollo both adored there mother. No one could ever say anything bad about Leto with Artemis and Apollo doing something about it. Artemis caused her mother no pain during childbirth. Artemis’s father was Zeus king of the gods. When Zeus asked Artemis what she wanted for her third birthday, she told him that she just wanted six simple gifts and Zeus gave them to her. Finally there are many myths about Artemis. While visiting the Grand Canyons, you couldn’t honestly tell me that you didn’t scream into the canyon just to hear your echo come back to you. Don’t be ashamed, we all do it. Many kinds of animals actually use their echo to find out where they are in a closed area or to find out if there are any other animals close by. One classic example is the bat. To understand what an echo is, you first have to understand what sound is. In Webster’s Fourth Edition College Dictionary, sound is â€Å"vibrations in air, water, etc. that stimulate the auditory nerves and produce the sensation of hearing.† Vibrations through the air can be thought of as oscillation of molecules. As the molecules oscillate, they pass energy on to surrounding molecules, and those molecules pass energy on to other surrounding molecules. This is how sound travels, and the oscillation of the molecules is often referred to as sound waves. An echo happens when the sound waves reach a surface, bounce off of it and travel in the opposite direction. For optimum echoes, the surface should be perpendicular to the waves, and as frictionless as possible. In places like the Grand Canyons, you can hear many echoes because the sound waves bounce off of surfaces, then others bounce off of other surfaces, and some will bounce back to you, but at different times. In echolocation, bats send out short pulses that have a high frequency. The short pulses that the bats send out have such a high frequency that the average human cannot hear them. The waves that the bats send ripple out from them circularly and will bounce off of anything that is in the bat’s way, and will also go back to the bat in the form of an echo. By instinctively examining the echoes that they receive, the bats will be able to tell the direction that the object is coming or going from, how fast it is going that way and how far away it is from the bat. Some bats can even tell how big the object is that is in their way. If bats didn’t have the use of echolocation, they’d need some other way to stay alive, because echolocation is the bat’s way of life. It is the primary reason that it is able to live in its environment.

Psychoanalytic Criticism of A Rose for Emily A Rose for Emily is a sad story about a woman who struggles with being unable to cope with the death of her father and being a lonely woman. It is broken into 5 sections in which in each part the narrator shifts the point of view. In section 1 the story starts off at Miss Emily’s funeral. The funeral is taking place at her home and many people come to pay their respects and also are curious to see the inside of the house. No one had seen the inside of the house besides the manservant for 10 years.Throughout the story we see the struggles a woman has with loneliness, depression and even necrophilia. Miss Emily’s character has many mental problems. Her biggest problem that we see her struggles with is denial. Several times through out the story she struggles with the denial of big issues. Sometimes it’s the death of a person or other times it was denying the fact that she owed taxes. Another struggle that she deals with is the fear of abandonment, which that seems to be what brought on her denial.Growing up her father was very controlling and when her father passes I think she has trouble dealing with not having a controlling figure in her life. That is what brought on the denial of her father’s death. That denial also plays a role in her necrophilia problem later in the story. The first of Miss Emily’s problem is denial. In a couple of cases we see that her denial is a big problem for her. We first see her denial take place when she takes place when the narrator talks about how she avoided paying taxes.This seems minor at this point because the town had told her that she owed no taxes, and in fact that the city owed her money from her fathers loan to the town. The loan was false but when her father passed she was left with only a house. Since she was thought of by the town as â€Å" a tradition, a duty and a care† (pg. 148). the town decided to help her out. They didn’t think she would take charity money so they made up the lie. When the younger people started taking over the town they sent her a letter to pay her taxes. She insisted that she owed nothing to the town. The leaders of the town sent a couple of letters to her but got no return.Back and forth it went until they decided to go to her house and collect the money. After a brief discussion she forced them out of her home with out paying and telling them to talk to Colonel Sartoris because she has no taxes in Jefferson. Colonel Sartoris had died by this point but she was unaware because she wouldn’t leave her home. We see her deal with denial when the death of her father comes. The day after he died a group of ladies went up to the house to â€Å"offer condolences and aid† (pg. 151) and Miss Emily â€Å"met them at the door, dressed as usual and with no trace of grief on her face. † (pg. 51) She denied that her father was dead. For 3 days people went to her house trying to get her to let them dispose of the body. And right as they were about to use law and force she allowed them to take the body and burry him. This is when we first signs that she was gong crazy. However, the narrator does say that they didn’t think she was crazy at this point but â€Å"she had to do that. † (pg. 151) The third denial she faces is when she murdered Homer Barron. Her and Homer were seen together on several occasions out in town. Many people thought they would marry but then Homer was last seen entering her home.The people of Jefferson thought he had left town after that since he was never seen again. At the end we learn that she had killed him. His body was lying in an upstairs room. The room was set up almost like that of a room for a bridal. Although filled with dust, the narrator describes a room that at one time was decorated. Homer’s body was decayed and only the bones were left. There was evidence that she would lay beside him at night. Sh e killed him because she was fearful of abandonment. In a way I think she thought she would always have him by killing him then leaving his body up stairs so she could lay with him until she died.We can look at how she treated death of her father and Homer as denial but it can also be looked at, as she feared abandonment as well. Growing up her father was very strict with her. She wasn’t allowed to date any man. Her father was extremely controlling over almost every part of her life. So when her father passed she didn’t want to admit it to herself because he was all she had as for as close family goes. I think she needed that controlling figure in her life. It’s obvious that she liked Homer and maybe she was scared he would leave her so she killed him. By doing that she would have him forever.Her love for Homer may have come due to the fact that she was like her dad. Even though her dad was controlling of her she had loved him dearly. She was longing for that co ntrolling figure and that is why she fell for Homer. The narrator describes him as a â€Å"mans man†. (pg 152) His controlling tendencies were clear when he was seen cussing at the people he was over at work. Through out this story we see Miss Emily struggle with the inner demons of denial and fear of abandonment. I think Faulkner does a great job by showing how there is a mental affect of someone growing up in a controlling environment.
